Diwali, the festival of lights, now has more colour and savings thanks to Dubai’s special promotions, giveaways, markets, live performances, exhibitions, and discounts on food and lodging.
Shopping centres, stores, and brands are planning unique Diwali celebrations with festive markets, events, and deals all over the emirate.
“There is everything to make this Diwali in Dubai a celebration to remember”, according to the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), “from festive accessories and lights to decorate the home to special celebratory outfits, gold, and gifts for family and friends.”
A Diamond Jewellery Set or A Chance to Live Rent-Free
Shoppers at BurJuman Mall can enter a raffle to win a year of rent-free living in a one-bedroom apartment in the centre of Dubai Creek by spending more than Dh250.
When you spend Dh2,500 or more on diamonds over the weekend of October 29 and 30, Damas will give you a free 1-gramme 22k gold coin or two coins if you spend Dh10,000 or more. Additionally, there won’t be any fees on a few pieces of 22k gold jewellery. Customers can also enter the raffle draw to win a diamond jewellery set.
Retail Promotions
There is a unique Spend & Win promotion at Oasis Mall. The mall’s sales offer discounts of up to 75%. From October 14th to October 24th, shoppers who spend Dh200 are eligible to enter a drawing for one of four Dh5,000 prizes.
From October 14th to October 28th, Lulu Hypermarket locations will also be offering special Diwali deals. In addition to competitions and fashion shows, there will be a buy-two-get-one-free sale on sarees and churidars.
Bazaars And Markets
Until October 23rd (Thursday through Sunday, noon to 10 pm), Dubai Festival Plaza will be home to a Diwali Bazaar. Cultural performances will be presented at the bazaar on Saturday and Sunday beginning at 4 pm, with additional roaming performances on Sunday, October 23rd. On Sunday, a rangoli contest will be held with cash prizes of up to 3,000 dirhams.
Up until October 30th, from 12 pm to 10 pm, Burjuman Mall will host its own bazaar.
The Waterfront Market’s executive resident chef Christos Lymperis will share recipes and live cooking stations inspired by Indian cuisine from October 15th to October 24th. The festivities include lively Bollywood-themed performances, a huge rangoli, and kid-friendly workshops.
There will be new markets and food trucks at Vibes by the Bay. The first travelling water circus in the Middle East, Fontana Circus, will perform a memorable performance.
Hotel Discounts
Until October 31st, the Le Meridien Hotel & Conference Centre offers a “lower price” for at least five nights during Diwali.
From October 10th to November 5th, the Leva Hotel Mazaya Center, located across from Downtown Dubai, offers specials for Diwali. Get a free one-day pass to The Green Planet or Laguna Waterpark when you book two nights.
